Glossary

We’ve curated a glossary of terms regarding all things writing and publishing related. From commonly-used terms to abbreviations, our glossary will guide writers and people starting out in publishing, to cut through the jargon and gain a better understanding. 

Volume rights
The primary right to publish the book in hardback or paperback (this can now also involve e-book rights).
Website Management
The administration, updating and maintenance of a website. Tools are available for monitoring and fixing broken links, and for tracking website visits and usage.
XML tagging
Inserting tags into the text that can allow it to be converted for ebooks or for use in electronic formats.
Youtube
A website that allows registered users to upload and share video clips online.
Zeugma
